What is Happening:
An entire industry has been built around exploiting fans, using bots and bulk-buying tactics to scoop up tickets instantly and relist them at outrageous markups. A simple purchase has turned into a rigged system where tickets are flipped for five or even ten times their original price before real fans even have a chance.
Nearly 90% of tickets on resale sites are controlled by professional brokers instead of everyday people, and prices have surged as a result. Meanwhile, artists and venues see none of that profit, and local businesses lose out when fans are priced out of shows. Corporate middlemen are extracting millions while delivering nothing of value in return.
What We Are Doing:
Concert tickets are not commodities to be exploited. They are meant for fans. The California Fans First Act caps resale prices at 10% above face value, allowing reasonable exchanges while putting an end to extreme price gouging. It’s time to shut down this broken system and restore fairness so Californians can enjoy events without worrying about price gouging.
